Washington, DC based music producer Jim Ebert specializes in bringing the vision of musicians to life through his experience with many genres, partnership with the best studio talent, and ability to understand, communicate and represent the musician’s wishes effectively.
Jim started his musical career at the age of twelve with a Micromoog synth and a Wurlitzer electric piano. After playing the worst version of ”Smoke On The Water” for the five thousandth time, Jim discovered music was going to be his life passion. As a guitarist, vocalist and keyboardist, Jim gigged regularly in the DC area from age 15-21. At 19 he took on the burden of recording his own band and stumbled upon the place where his true musical impact would lie: the studio.
Jim then sharpened his talent as chief engineer of Cue recording (VA). Every day was something new at Cue. Recording everything from HR of the Bad Brains to Buddy Miles helped nurture his diverse style. After the success of Shai’s double platinum album “If I Ever Fall In Love Again”, Jim’s mixing reputation grew.
Jim’s talents brought him to Los Angeles, CA to continue his career. Mixing became his main focus and led him to work on behalf of such artists as Ice Cube, Madonna and Butch Walker.
A fortunate twist of scheduling fate led to Jim’s participation as engineer and mixer for Jason Falkner’s solo debut album, “Author Unknown…” Jason’s genius is well-regarded in music circles, and the artistic success of the album let do more successes with acts like Cowboy Mouth, Trish Murphy, Everything and Meredith Brooks.
Jim currently works with indie, major label and developing artists as a producer and mixer, ensuring throughout his process that musical and audio quality remain high, while not forgetting the soul and spirit aspects so important to the musical art form.
